Click to download a high quality MP3 of Jerome singing at a recent Soul Cruisers performance.

Jerome "J.D." Dean is a New Jersey native, born and raised in Newark. Jerome's love affair with music began as a child, when he started singing in church choirs. Growing up he continued to sing in choirs, and spread his wings in musicals and other performing events.

Jerome spent 12 years living in Southern California, where he studied music and voice. He founded an acappella doo-wop group called "The New Creations" and toured throughout the world in support of their first record. When that group ended, Jerome continued his performing career, singing with Big Jay McNally's band (his hit was "There Is Something On Your Mind") and later with Thurston Harris ("Itty Bitty Pretty One"). For three years he toured with the world-renowned Drifters, where he fine-tuned both his lead and background vocal abilities.

If you traveled Amtrak up and down the Northeast Corridor, you may also have had the privilege of being entertained by Jerome as one of their stars in the "Train In Song" program. In conjunction with those performances, he also entertained at many private Amtrak functions, and starred in an Amtrak musical commercial.
