Founding member of the Sensational Soul Cruisers, vocalist Smokey Noble had been singing for 5 years when he picked up his first guitar at the age of 10.He enjoyed success early in his adult life with his vocal group The Joneses, and their R&B hit "Sugar Pie Guy", and has been performing ever since.
Smokey toured the world as the lead guitar player and musical director for singer Gwen McCrae when her hit "Rocking Chair" hit the charts. Later Smokey played guitar and sang background vocals for George "Rock Your Baby" McCrae.
As a featured vocalist, Smokey performed for several years in Las Vegas and around the globe with the Platters. He is thrilled to be back on the East Coast and proud to be an original Soul Cruiser!
