Screamin’ Steve Barlotta

Screamin’ Steve Barlotta, founder of the Sensational Soul Cruisers and self-described "tyrant", spends his time keeping the Soul Cruisers running smoothly, and has been playing tenor sax since his early teens. After years of lessons, he continued his music education and received his degree from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music. In addition to his stewardship of the Soul Cruisers, Steve was for 11 years the musical director for Gary U.S. Bonds, touring all over the world. He has also performed with many other well-known artists, including Davy Jones of The Monkees, Peter Noone, Frankie Valli, Ronnie Spector, just to name a few. Steve was recently seen on television performing with Gary U.S. Bonds at the Rhythm & Blues Foundation Pioneer Awards dinner for a live audience that included such notables as Prince, Bonnie Raitt, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Tracy Chapman and Steve Winwood.

Steve comes from a talented family: his younger sister is a talented singer/songwriter, two brothers are musicians, and nephew Noah Fleiss is a well known young actor who has starred in movies such as "Josh and S.A.M." and "Roommates", and Sundance festival winner "Joe The King", as well as made-for-cable movies "A Mother’s Prayer", "Chasing the Dragon" and "An Unexpected Family".

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Barlotta now resides in Ocean County, New Jersey with his wife Jeanine and sons Alessandro and Erik.
